Michelle Dyoss

Michelle is Director of Selph Consultancy; she is a Public Health Specialist and Project Manager with a passion for making change.

Michelle has had a variety of roles from working in a small independent Community Pharmacy, to a Childrens Hospital, GP practices, Primary Care Trusts and Local Authority.

More recent roles have been with Public Health teams, Local Pharmaceutical Committees and Local Optometry Committees which has involved developing, promoting and supporting public health services and campaigns.

A qualified and experienced project manager, Michelle has managed a variety of programmes including social marketing, research projects, working with young people, and initiatives such as Healthy Living Pharmacy and Healthy Living Opticians.

She has also led on engagement projects, health and wellbeing campaigns, and public health services as well as providing a range of training to support healthcare professionals, students and the wider workforce.

Michelle has worked across various disciplines within public health including smoking, alcohol, sexual health, weight management, physical activity, mental health and volunteer programmes and so has a wealth of knowledge on public health.

Kiran Sehmi

Kiran has 15 years of public health experience working across the NHS and local authority and CCGs.

Specialist interests are health inequalities, lifestyle services and community engagement and health education.

Kiran is a forward thinking, energetic Health Improvement Specialist dedicated to the promotion and protection of collective human health and wellbeing.

Passionate about supporting the public’s health and working with the wider workforce and local communities across a life course approach in tackling health inequalities and wider determinants of health.

Shamina Asif

Shamina Asif

Shamina is an Optometrist who qualified from Aston University with a 1st class honours. She is currently Chair of Dudley Local Optical Committee, past Vice-Chair for Walsall LOC and a council member for the College of Optometrists.

She has written numerous clinical articles for Optometry Today, also having been featured in newspapers promoting Optometry. Shamina has recently been accredited as a WOPEC examiner.

Last year, she was awarded a 1st class in her leadership training with Cardiff University, and has carried out research on attitudes of Optometrists and discussing smoking status with patients. Shamina is also founder of Optom Academy training pre-registration students and has recently been made Head of Clinical Services for a new optical company.

Having presented at Optometry Tomorrow she has a keen interest in AMD and runs many workshops. Her latest venture has been the setting up of the Healthy Living Optical Practice scheme in conjunction with Michelle for which they won a national award. 

Emily Carter

Emily Carter provides administrative assistance to Selph.

Her background is originally in hairdressing which has given her excellent communication skills.

Emily joined Selph in 2017 and has expanded her knowledge of public health by training as a Health Champion. She takes a hands-on approach to her role, and is also a qualified Smoking Cessation Advisor.

Emily continues to expand her knowledge and experience and has attended training on Alcohol Interventions and Sexual Health, as well as supporting Selph training events across the West Midlands.
